Tuitamo Biography
Tuitamo.collective is an interdisciplinary artists' collective that was born in 2024 out of the desire to expand the boundaries of their art forms and explore new ways of collaborating. Through the interplay of dance, music, and theater, the artists develop innovative working methods characterized by curiosity, exchange, and continuous learning. Their diverse cultural and artistic backgrounds enrich the joint development of ideas and concepts. International stage experience and activities in cultural work flow into their projects. The first collective work, Tischgespräche (Table Talks), premiered in December 2024.
The collective performs in various formations, from trios to quartets.
CONCEPT
Tischgespräche
We see this performance as an experimental and improvisational attempt to answer our question(s) within our interdisciplinary playground: How do we perceive everyday objects like a table? How do we approach them, and how do they influence us? What stories are hidden behind them? How do humans and the table react to one another, and what happens when they enter into a dialogue?
With the table as the main character, we will weave a story around it across four to six scenes. Through theatre, object performance, and puppetry, we aim to bring the table to life, adopt its perspective, approach it, and cross the boundaries between human and object. Here, music and sound serve as atmospheric designers, subjects, and animators for both human and table on stage, as well as attempts at communication, soundscapes, and synchronization. We use dance and movement as a means to explore, compare, unite, and narrate the encounter between human and object. The table, the performers, and the music: acting as stage, audience, scenography, protagonist, and storyteller.
Dreams are the Nightly Mirrors of the Soul (Träume sind die nächtlichen Spiegel der Seele).
Based on the premise that as human beings, we are confronted in our dreams with our innermost desires, our greatest hopes, but also our darkest fears—and that dreaming, unlike reality, sets no limits on the imagination—the trio seeks to explore the field of diverse narratives within dreaming.
With their 'Dreams' series, the artists aim to blur the boundaries between reality and dream, stability and fragility, control and chaos. By creating utopias and dystopias through music, performance, and text, the audience is invited on a shared dream journey. In a playful manner, the trio explores the (fragile) fabric that dreams are woven from, where they can lead us, and what remains of them when we wake up again.
